Christa McAuliffe Residential Community (CMRC) was named in memory of one of Bowie State University’s most famous graduates.
In 1986 she stepped from the classroom into history; as part of a radical new approach by NASA, Christa McAuliffe was to be the first teacher in space. While her mission on the shuttle ended tragically, her mission as a teacher continues.
